Cassidy Comments on Harry Reid's Senate Keystone Failure

(Baton Rouge, La) – Today, Dr. Bill Cassidy, U.S. Representative for the Sixth District of Louisiana and candidate for the U.S. Senate, released the following statement on Senator Harry Reid's failure to hold a vote regarding the Keystone XL Pipeline:

"For over 2,000 days the American people have been waiting for the jobs and economic growth that would accompany approval of the Keystone XL pipeline.

"Finally, as we entered an election year and after years of silence on the issue, Senator Landrieu joined House Republicans in calling for the pipeline. However, Senate Democrats today proved that they do not stand with working Americans. Harry Reid's failure to move forward with a vote this afternoon proves that as long as he controls the U.S. Senate, our energy economy will suffer. I hope this setback does not deter Republicans in the House from continuing to advocate on behalf of the Keystone pipeline."
