ABOUT DR. BILL CASSIDY
Bill grew up in Baton Rouge and attended local schools before earning his undergraduate and medical degrees from LSU. With over 25 years in Louisiana's charity hospital system, he ensured quality healthcare for the less fortunate, while his wife Laura became the first female breast cancer surgeon in Louisiana. Together, they founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic and worked on various healthcare initiatives, including vaccinating 36,000 children against Hepatitis B. Bill's leadership extended to providing emergency healthcare after Hurricane Katrina. Now a conservative senator, he focuses on lowering healthcare costs, improving education, supporting small businesses, and protecting energy workers. Additionally, after discovering their daughter had dyslexia, they founded the Louisiana Key Academy to support students with similar challenges. They live in Baton Rouge, attending Chapel on the Campus, and have three children and one grandchild.
