Fighting for Southwest LA

“Senator Bill Cassidy has demonstrated incredible leadership for our entire state during his tenure in the US Senate. He is responsive, hands-on, and proactive in serving his constituents.   Washington needs leaders like Senator Cassidy who works with people to find true solutions to our challenges.  He deserves to continue his work in the Senate and I wholeheartedly endorse him in his re-election this coming November. I’m proud to call him my Senator!”

— Senator Ronnie Johns  (Lake Charles, LA)

Energy

As the new chairman of the Senate Energy Subcommittee, Senator Cassidy has been a staunch defender and voice for energy workers in Southeast Louisiana. Cassidy has successfully blocked Democrats’ efforts to slash U.S. energy dominance and decimate energy jobs in Southwest Louisiana. Instead he has led the charge to streamline the approval of new job-creating energy projects like Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass liquid natural gas (LNG) export terminal project and exportation authorization for Cameron LNG and Magnolia LNG. Bill has also introduced legislation to clear the backlog of project applications at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Small-Scale LNG Act to streamline the sale of cleaner burning Louisiana LNG to small countries like those in the Caribbean currently burning coal or Venezuelan crude.

While Democrats celebrate the downturn in energy production due to COVID-19 and foreign price wars, Cassidy is working with the Trump administration to assist energy workers and ensure continued American energy dominance in the future.

Infrastructure

Investing in infrastructure is essential for long term success of any region. Cassidy has helped the Port of Lake Charles and the region secure vital operation and maintenance funding, like dredging for the port and the Calcasieu River. Cassidy has also taken the request of most every citizen of Southwest Louisiana straight to the president and secured Trump’s commitment to build a new I-10 bridge after the 2020 election.

First Responders

Cassidy has made a commitment to assist first responders who put themselves in danger to protect and serve our communities. Whether it be our police, sheriff, fire or EMS departments, Cassidy is working to make sure they have the protection they need. Cassidy worked directly with the Allen Parish Fire District to help them secure the grants they needed to obtain up to date personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatuses, and a quick attack fire truck to protect their firefighters and help them better serve their area.
